Codex 101 Foundations

This course provides a hands-on introduction to ChatGPT Codex for technical professionals who need a practical understanding of AI-assisted development. You will use Codex to open a local project, manage project context, use slash commands, reference files, create project guidance, and complete a small code change from planning through verification.

The course begins with the basic Codex project workflow and then moves into guided interaction patterns, including chats, file mentions, planning, code review, prompting, and AGENTS.md guidance. You will practice using Codex to create project files, generate a small PowerShell application, review the generated code, run it locally, and refine it through follow-up prompts.

By the end of the course, you will understand how Codex supports the full AI-native software development lifecycle. You will have practiced a complete workflow that includes requirements discovery, planning, implementation, review, testing, refinement, and documentation handoff.
