Course Overview

This course offers a strong foundation in the basic networking which is essential before continuing your study with modern cloud technologies. This course or equivalent knowledge is mandatory prior to taking any cloud computing class. In this course, you will learn fundamental networking concepts. You will begin with the OSI Model and study each level in detail, understanding both wired, virtual, and wireless networks. In addition, you will learn the fundamentals of IP Protocols, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP Routing Protocols, as well as UDP/IP and TCP/IP stacks. Your learning continues into NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and SDN (Software Defined Networking) with emphasis on Open vSwitch and Calico. You will understand cloud networking with the same clarity as classic hardware-based networking. More importantly, you will learn the grand picture of networking as it exists today. Bottom line will be that this course takes the "rocket science" out of networking.
