Job Overview

The candidate will be an accomplished instructor, able to teach virtually as well as in a live classroom to a highly technical audience. The individual must also have the ability to develop new course content and manage existing content. The candidate must be able to learn new concepts quickly and be able to teach those concepts effectively. Enthusiasm, innovativeness, adaptability, and the ability to be receptive to feedback is a must.

Company Description

Alta3 Research develops and performs technical training via live classroom, virtual classroom, and video training. We have developed our own delivery platform that includes video, online training manuals, video studio, video processing, hands-on lab environments, and certification exams. We excel at making complex concepts intuitively obvious. Our systems permit our courseware to be updated continuously, so our content is kept very current.

Essential Responsibilities

• Candidate will instruct 3 to 5 day courses on some of the following topics: Kubernetes, Python, Ansible

• Learn and master new content quickly. Candidate will be provided access to our entire video library to assist with their own learning in preparation for their training events as well as the ability to utilize other Alta3 instructors for preparation assistance.

• Deliver technical training via webinar style tools.

• Be willing to travel in order to deliver onsite classroom trainings as necessary.

• Stay current on the topics you will teach.

• Alta3 Research’s systems permit continuous updates to our courseware, so you will be expected to update, edit, or correct the courses you teach at the end of each presentation.

• Adapt current material to meet customer-specific requirements.

• Effectively communicate and cross-train with associates.

• Design and develop technical training courseware for new product and service offerings. Our training material is developed using PowerPoint and then converted to many different modalities.

• Be willing to travel in order to deliver onsite classroom training as necessary.

• Perform other duties as required.

Technical Skills

• Read technical documentation with complete comprehension and be able to immediately apply that knowledge.

• Proficient with Linux operating systems as well as Microsoft when required.

• Programming skills to help with bash scripts, Ansible, web development, and VBA would be a plus.

• Previous experience with technical training and technical content development.

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, LAN/WAN, wireless, etc.)

• Experience with Python, Ansible, and microservices would be immediately useful.

• If the candidate can program, this skill will be used to help Alta3 Research’s training systems. This is not an essential skill, but helpful.

• Candidate can expect exposure to any of these:

  • Python

  • Linux command line skills

  • HTML

  • JavaScript

  • BASH scripts

  • Ansible

  • Kubernetes

Soft Skills

• Ideally, the candidate is regarded as a great teacher. For example, the candidate may have taught high school and was regarded as one of the top teachers at the school.

• Candidate may mix education and entertainment throughout lessons.

• Must be able to master new skills at a rate that is faster than the industry is developing new technology. This means the candidate must be able to read technical documentation with complete comprehension and then teach it to others.

• Must have the ability to work with and interact with clients of various backgrounds and maintain positive client relationships.

• Must be comfortable and effective in delivering training virtually and onsite.

• Must be able to work and manage time independently.

• Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
